The executive Executive Master of Information and Knowledge Management (MIKM) offered by the Stellenbosch University in South Africa is widely attended by professionals and public authorities in the area. As guest lecturer Prof. Gronau regularly involves the asprects of process-oriented Knowledge Management, followed by a case study, in which knowledge intensive processes are being analyzed using the KMDL. The free downloadable modelling tool K-Modeler is used for this purpose.
The well-established approach of representing real processes into abstract models, which is almost a standard concept in Germany, is interestingly a whole new territory for some of the participants. At the end of the course, all participants were able to implement the KMDL method successfully.
